• Education: Completion of secondary/high school graduation certificate
• Work experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience as a Retail Store Manager or Retail Store Supervisor in a gas station/convenience store is required.
Job Duties:
• Monitor and assess daily sales activities at the business to maximize performance and efficiency.
• Direct cashiers by assigning specific tasks to ensure smooth operations across the gas station, convenience store, ice cream shack, and food counter.
• Investigate local market conditions to gauge potential sales and understand the competitive landscape across the various segments of the business.
• Work with vendors to secure favourable terms for the purchase of gasoline, diesel, propane, convenience store items, coffee, ice cream, lottery, tobacco, and vape products, as well as kitchen supplies, to ensure smooth supply across all areas of the business.
• Develop and execute strategies to boost sales and increase the store's presence within the community.
• Plan budgets, approve expenditures, and monitor revenue to sustain the financial stability of the store while managing revenue streams from the multiple business sections effectively.
• Evaluate the level of service provided, address customer inquiries, and resolve any issues that may occur.
• Oversee hiring, training, and retention initiatives to cultivate a skilled and dedicated team.
• Authorize payments, verify fuel transactions, and manage returns or exchanges of convenience store merchandise while ensuring compliance with store policies and maintaining customer satisfaction.
• Monitor inventory levels of gasoline, diesel, and propane, and order convenience store merchandise such as snacks, beverages, coffee, lottery, tobacco, and vape products, along with supplies for the ice cream shack and food items required for preparing hot foods such as fried chicken, potato wedges, chicken tenders, burgers, and sandwiches.
• Maintain the store’s visual and operational standards, including product displays, fuel pump areas, signage, cleanliness, and food preparation areas, to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for customers.
• Prepare and maintain reports on fuel sales, as well as convenience store and food counter sales volumes, merchandising activities, and personnel matters.
• Manage payroll administration.
• May perform other duties as required by the business.
