For the past 30 years, Lions Bay General Store & Cafe (located between Vancouver and Squamish on the steep eastern shore of Howe Sound) has been providing a unique shopping environment for our customers, offering retail and cafe for the community, while providing excellent customer service.
The General Store promotes local artisan goods, fine meats and cheeses, beautiful West Coast Souvenirs and a Liquor Store featuring Craft Beer, Wine and Ciders with an emphasis on the Howe Sound and local breweries and wineries. The Café serves Bean Around The World coffee and has a seasonal breakfast and lunch menu with a nibble/tasting menu to accompany cold craft beer and wine. Anytime, our fun and outgoing staff are happy to help you find what you are looking for.
Today, in line with our operation needs, we are looking for a dedicated Store Manager to take charge the overall operations of both the general Store and Café, ensuring excellent product quality, customer service, and the overall customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Plan, direct and evaluate the operations of both the General Store and Café, ensuring smooth service and a community-oriented atmosphere for tourists and locals alike.
• Manage and assign sales and customer service workers, schedule shifts, and respond to staff needs to ensure the store is sufficiently staffed.
• Conduct market studies to determine consumer demand and potential sales volumes, developing and implementing marketing and sales strategies accordingly.
• Carefully determine, source and coordinate with vendors for local artisan goods & souvenirs, gourmet foods, and craft beverages, ensuring high standards of product quality, stable supply and sufficient stock level throughout the year.
• Develop and update seasonal Café menus, including breakfast, lunch, and tasting options to complement beverage offerings.
• Monitor and analyze sales performance and revenues to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.

• Handle budgeting, financial reporting, and cost control to maximize profitability.
• Address customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints promptly to ensure a high level of satisfaction.
• Recruit, train, and supervise staff to deliver exceptional customer service, enhancing both the customer satisfaction and staff development and retention.
• Plan and direct in-store promotional events to attract customers and increase community engagement.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and liquor regulations, maintaining a clean and safe environment for customers and staff.
• Lead by example, fostering a positive and collaborative team culture that aligns with the store's mission of community service.

Job Requirements:
Skills & Qualifications
• Minimum a college diploma in business management, hospitality, or a related field.
• Certifications in retail management, customer service, or food and beverage service are an asset.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant supervisory experience in retail, hospitality, restaurant or a related filed.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Experience in both in-store and on social media marketing
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Passion for promoting local artisan goods and knowledge of craft beer, wine, and spirits is a plus.
