Key Responsibilities
• Assist with the daily operations of the storage area by following instructions from the supervisor.
• Efficiently receive incoming goods, verify quantities, and report any discrepancies or damages to the Inventory Supervisor.
• Actively maintain the cleanliness and organization of assigned storage/warehouse areas, ensuring aisles are clear and items are correctly shelved.
• Place goods in their designated storage locations, ensuring proper labelling, packaging/wrapping, stacking and accessibility.
• Assist the Supervisor with documentation by ensuring items picked match the delivery list.
• Strictly adhere to proper storage methods for all goods, following company Health and Safety requirements and reporting any concerns.
• Help implement and follow FIFO (First-In, First-Out) principles when stocking and retrieving goods to minimize waste.
• Assist with periodic inventory counts, physically counting stock.
• Monitor expiry dates of products during handling and report items with short expiry windows to the Storekeeper/Inventory Supervisor in advance to prevent spoilage.
• Work diligently to minimize spoilage and errors during handling and picking.
• Immediately report any observed inventory discrepancies or damaged goods to the Supervisor.
Qualifications
• Required to hold valid MED Domestic Vessel Safety certificate, Crowd and Crisis Management certificate, marine medical certificate, which employer will support arranging and subsidizing.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
Working Conditions
• Constant standing and walking throughout shift
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
