Responsibilities:
-Prepare and lay bricks, concrete blocks, structural tiles or other masonry units
-Lay bricks, stone or similar materials to provide veneer facing
-Construct and install prefabricated masonry units
-Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages
-Cut and trim bricks and concrete blocks to specification using hand and power tools
-Lay bricks or other masonry units to build residential or commercial chimneys and fireplaces
-Restore, clean or paint existing masonry structures
Experience:
-Proven experience as a Stonemason or in a similar role within construction or restoration projects.
-Skilled in the use of hand tools such as chisels, hammers, grinders, as well as power tools for cutting and shaping stone.
-Knowledge of different types of stone materials including granite, limestone, marble, sandstone, and their specific handling requirements.
-Strong attention to detail with a focus on craftsmanship and safety standards.
-Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks including lifting heavy materials and working in various weather conditions.
