Position: Sr. Technician (Electric Heating Systems & Temperature Controls)
Duration/Type: Full Time
Location: Unit 97, 170 Brockport Dr, Etobicoke, ON M9W 5C8
Salary: $40.00 per hour. The gross salary paid is subject to applicable Federal and Provincial income taxes and other statutory deductions.
Other Benefits: Optional Group Insurance benefits including medical, dental and eyecare on cost sharing basis
Vacation: 4% of gross salary amount
Hours of Work: 30-40 Hours a week; Overtime rate (X1.5) after 44 hours of work per week
Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities
• Inspect, diagnose and test malfunctioning electric heaters and elements, temperature control systems, pressure and temperature sensors, thermostats, relays and hot runner modules.
• Support and mentor junior technicians through hands-on training, troubleshooting assistance, and review of repair and calibration work to ensure quality standards and safety compliance.
• Troubleshoot irregular performance, heating failure, control malfunction, calibration deviations and related electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic and testing instruments.
• Install, repair, recondition, calibrate and replace electrical heating components and accessories as required (cartridge heaters, band heaters, coil heaters, immersion heaters, flexible heaters, etc.).
• Repair or service temperature control panels including wiring, switches, solid-state relays, PID controllers, fuses, sensors, internal circuits and related components.
• Service and assemble heating systems in accordance with company specifications, drawings, and applicable electrical safety standards.
• Install, wire and test pressure and temperature sensors (RTDs, thermocouples, digital readout devices, etc.) ensuring proper tolerance, response and accuracy.
• Conduct operational tests to confirm proper system performance, calibration, electrical continuity and safety compliance.
• Complete service reports, documentation logs, and parts usage records in accordance with company procedures.
• Perform preventive maintenance and recommend repairs, part replacements or upgrades as required.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organized workspace and follow electrical safety regulations, PPE requirements and all relevant workplace procedures.
• Perform on-site troubleshooting and repair work at client locations when assigned.

Job Requirements:
• Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on experience servicing and troubleshooting electric heating systems, temperature control equipment, and related industrial electrical components is required.
• Strong knowledge of electrical circuits, control wiring, PID controllers, solid-state relays, fuses, thermocouples, RTDs, and digital temperature control devices.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical drawings.
• Completion of secondary school required.
• Moderate communication skills in oral and written English are required with an ability to complete service reports, diagnostic records, and parts usage logs accurately.
• Strong knowledge of electrical circuits, control wiring, PID controllers, solid-state relays, fuses, thermocouples, RTDs, and digital temperature control devices.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical drawings.
