Position: Sr. Accounting Technician
Duration/Type: Full Time
Location: 17-4801 Steeles Ave W, North York, ON M9L 2W1
Salary: $62,000 annually. The gross salary paid is subject to applicable Federal and Provincial income taxes and other statutory deductions.
Vacation: 4% of the gross salary
Hours of Work: 32.5 Hours a week
Essential Functions / Job Duties
• Maintain accurate general ledgers, journals, and financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, and Wave for various clients.
• Reconcile bank statements, credit card transactions, and other accounts.
• Prepare personal and corporate tax returns (T1s and T2s) using Intuit ProFile, in compliance with CRA requirements.
• Calculate and prepare HST/GST returns and ensure timely submission to government authorities.
• Post journal entries and perform adjustments to support closing processes and audit readiness.
• Prepare trial balances, basic financial statements, and supporting schedules for internal review or external auditors on behalf of the clients.
• Assist in payroll processing, including calculating statutory deductions and preparing summary reports for the clients.
• Maintain updated and well-organized client records in accordance with regulatory and office procedures.
• Communicate with clients to obtain necessary documentation and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
• Support general administrative and accounting tasks to ensure smooth daily operations of the accounting office.
