Job Summary:
The Spa Manager works in a nail spa salon environment and oversees the daily operations and customer service activities of the spa. The role involves planning, organizing, and directing spa operations; supervising and training nail technicians; ensuring high standards of service quality, hygiene, and workplace safety; managing inventory, suppliers, and spa assets; monitoring budgets, revenues, and expenses; and implementing business objectives, marketing strategies, and promotional programs to support operational efficiency, service consistency, and client satisfaction.
Duties:
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the spa to ensure that services are delivered efficiently and effectively.
• Supervise nail technicians, including organizing work shift schedules, assigning duties, and monitoring staff performance.
• Advise customers on products and services and handle client inquiries and complaints.
• Hire and train new employees and conduct staff performance evaluations.
• Plan and implement business objectives, sales targets, and service performance goals.
• Implement operational policies and service procedures to ensure operational efficiency and service consistency.
• Monitor the spa’s budget, including daily revenue and expenses.
• Oversee appointment flow and capacity planning to reduce wait times and optimize technician utilization.
• Review POS/service sales reports weekly and adjust staffing, service mix, or promotions as needed.
• Monitor inventory levels of nail products, tools, and supplies and coordinate restocking when necessary.
• Oversee the use and maintenance of spa assets, tools, and equipment to ensure proper operation.
• Maintain relationships with suppliers and coordinate the procurement of spa products and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with hygiene, sanitation, sterilization, and workplace safety standards.
• Supervise and coordinate the spa’s customer service activities to ensure client satisfaction.
• Maintain and monitor service quality, technical standards, and overall client experience in accordance with the spa’s operational standards.
• Keep up to date with new trends in the spa and nail care industry.
Working Conditions
• Work is performed in a nail spa environment with exposure to nail products and chemical odors
• May require standing or walking for extended periods
• Work shift may include mornings, evenings, weekends and statutory holidays, depending on business needs.
Job Requirements
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory / assistant management / senior lead experience in a spa / salon / personal services business (or similar customer-facing service environment), including responsibility for staff scheduling, daily operations coordination, inventory control, and customer issue resolution.
• Knowledge and hands-on experience as a nail technician.
• Post-secondary education in business / management / accounting / hospitality or a related field is an asset.
• Demonstrated leadership skills, including staff supervision, work allocation and scheduling.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Knowledge of spa or nail care services, products, hygiene practices, and sanitation standards.
• Language: English.
