Software Engineer Job

Implement software to perform data processing operations efficiently on large data sets as part of an overall analytics engine. Work closely with one or more technical leads and other individual developers in developing software and to ensure data is processed accurately, efficiently, and reliably as part of the overall analytics engine. Investigate and address issues in the software and develop necessary enhancements in an ongoing manner. Define algorithms, mechanisms, procedures, and policies for the required functionality; document them and secure review and approval from the technical leads. Maintain and advance solid understanding of approaches and techniques related to high-performance processing of large data sets in an ongoing manner. Apply best principles of high-performance software development including parallelization, pipelining, caching, and minimizing overheads in memory handling and communication. Develop software implementing the functionality with the best coding practices and test practices. Integrate with the overall analytics engine platform in alignment with CI/CD methodologies and tools to ensure the new function is fully operational without any degradation. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to enhance the robustness, performance, and scalability of database systems. Investigate and resolve all bugs before and after the release of the software. Troubleshoot and resolve issues, incidents, and problems while collaborating with others if needed, documenting findings, defining resolutions, and identifying required enhancements to avoid recurrence. Communicate clearly and effectively and provide status reports regularly. Perform all tasks in a planned and timely manner.

Minimum Requirements:

Education: Master’s degree in in software engineering, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.

Experience: Two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in a software engineering-related occupation.

Skills: Minimum one (1) year of experience required in each of the following skills: development of high-throughput software systems; deployment and testing using cloud platforms including AWS and GCP; architecture of scalable backend systems; benchmark testing; troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues; bug identification and correction; deploying and managing applications on Linux hosts in cloud environments; development in Rust, Java, C++, and/or Golang; Shell or Bash scripting.
