Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Sod Sales Estimator to join our team. This role is responsible for evaluating project requirements, preparing accurate cost estimates, and building strong relationships with residential and commercial clients. The ideal candidate has knowledge of landscaping, turf varieties suitable for Florida climates, and strong sales skills.
Key Responsibilities
Meet with customers to assess sod installation or replacement needs
Measure properties and calculate square footage for accurate estimates
Recommend appropriate sod types based on soil, sunlight, and usage (e.g., St. Augustine, Bermuda, Zoysia)
Prepare and present detailed cost estimates, proposals, and timelines
Follow up on leads and close sales opportunities
Coordinate with operations/installation teams to ensure project accuracy and scheduling
Maintain strong customer relationships and provide excellent service
Track estimates, sales activity, and customer interactions in CRM or internal systems
Stay updated on Florida turf trends, seasonal considerations, and pricing
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s preferred)
1–3+ years of experience in landscaping, sod sales, or construction estimating
Knowledge of Florida sod varieties and growing conditions
Strong math skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to read property layouts or blueprints (preferred)
Valid Florida driver’s license (Required)

Ability to work independently and in the field
Basic computer skills (Excel, CRM software, estimating tools)
