Job Description:
Job Summary:

The Social Worker is responsible for the youth’s admission, treatment, and transition process while at the STRTP. They provide evaluations, counseling, and education services to the youth and family. They also interact with the youth’s Child and Family Team and the Interagency Placement Committee.

Education and Experience:

Master’s Degree from an accredited or state-approved graduate school, as defined by the
Department of Education, in social work or social welfare, marriage, family and child
counseling, child psychology, child development, counseling psychology or social psychology.

Completion of at least three semester units or 100 days of field practice or experience in a public or private social services agency with a master’s degree or higher.

At least nine semesters units of course work related to children and families, or 18 months of experience working with children and families.

At least three semesters units working with minority populations; six months of experience
working with minority populations; or six months in-service training working with minority
populations within the first year of employment as a condition of employment.

At least three semester units in child welfare, or two years of experience in a public or private child welfare social services setting.

Additional Requirements:

Must be at least 21 years old.
Must clear a CCL, DOJ, and FBI fingerprint criminal background check.
Must complete and pass a health screening and TB test.
Must have a valid California Driver License and be insurable under the Agency Insurance carrier.

Responsibilities:

Plan, coordinate evaluate and report on all required social work services for assigned youth.

Complete an intake study for each youth.

Complete a needs and services plan for each youth and all required updates including mandated 30-day updates of plans.

Obtain, develop and record data and information necessary for social work functions.

Coordinate, evaluate, and report on the access to the provision of core services for each assigned youth.

Create a transition plan and other documents as indicated.

Provide individual, group, and family therapy to children and their families.

Participate in case conferences, Child and Family Team meetings, Interagency Placement Committee meetings, etc.

STEPSS which stands for Seeking To Empower and Promote Self-Sufficiency, is a Short-Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP) six-bed facility that serves girls ages (6-12). STEPSS operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in the city of Hemet. There are multiple shifts available. STEPSS offers competitive salaries which exceed the current market rates.
