About AMPAC

AMPAC is an early-stage civic and public affairs initiative in the process of organizational formation and build-out. We are developing governance, infrastructure, and operating practices from the ground up with high standards, clear approvals, and strong documentation so the work remains credible, lawful, and execution-driven.

Formation and Status Disclaimer

AMPAC is being organized as a District of Columbia nonprofit corporation and intends to operate as an organization described in Section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code and to seek recognition of such status from the Internal Revenue Service. Until formation steps are completed and any IRS recognition is received (if sought), AMPAC’s structure, roles, internal policies, and public-facing materials may be updated, refined, or revised. The AMPAC website and related materials may include wording or features referencing “501(c)(4)” or civic engagement activities; such materials are presented for informational purposes during the build-out phase and are subject to change.

The Opportunity

AMPAC is seeking a Social Media Manager (Volunteer) to help build our public presence from the ground up and support disciplined, high-quality communications across major platforms. This is a remote volunteer role, and applicants may be located anywhere in the United States. This role is suited for a strong operator who can execute consistently, follow approvals, and build momentum in a public-facing environment.

Volunteer role; compensation note: This is a volunteer role. Any compensation, stipend, honorarium, or reimbursement is discretionary, subject to applicable law and internal governance approvals, and may be considered based on organizational needs and the selected candidate’s scope of contribution.

Key Responsibilities
• Platform management and execution: Publish approved content across major platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, X, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok as applicable) with consistent cadence and quality.
• Content production support: Create or coordinate short-form graphics, clips, captions, and simple edits aligned with AMPAC’s tone and standards.
• Editorial planning: Maintain a weekly content calendar, coordinate draft pipelines, and ensure timely posting around organizational updates and civic engagement themes.
• Brand consistency: Apply consistent voice, visual standards, and positioning across platforms, aligning with AMPAC’s credibility and long-term trust posture.
• Community engagement: Monitor replies and comments, route sensitive inquiries appropriately, and engage constructively within approved guidelines.
• Performance insights: Track basic metrics (reach, engagement, growth), identify what works, and propose improvements while staying within approvals and documentation expectations.
• Approval discipline: Follow internal review and approval pathways for any public-facing content and maintain clean documentation of posts, approvals, and asset sources.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a high-trust operator with strong judgment and a builder mindset.

Ideal qualifications include:
• Demonstrated experience managing social media for an organization, project, campaign, or professional brand.
• Strong writing and editing skills with an ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
• Competence with basic design and editing tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Express, CapCut, native platform tools), or willingness to learn quickly.
• Understanding of platform mechanics and content formats that drive meaningful engagement.
• Ability to operate in an early-stage environment with structure, approvals, and execution discipline.
• Sound judgment for public-facing communications and comfort escalating sensitive issues to leadership.
• Alignment with AMPAC’s standards: respectful tone, credibility-first messaging, and lawful participation.

Time Commitment
• Target: 5–10 hours per week (can flex based on schedule and build-out needs).
• Remote volunteer model, with optional periodic Washington, DC presence as needed for select events or meetings.

What You Will Help Build

A credible, disciplined civic institution with a strong public presence, a consistent voice, and scalable communications operations built on clear approvals and long-term trust.

How to Apply

Please submit:
• A short statement of interest (why AMPAC, why now)
• Resume or LinkedIn profile
• Examples of social media work (portfolio links, accounts you manage, content samples, or a brief content calendar sample)

Equal Opportunity Note

AMPAC evaluates candidates based on merit, alignment with mission, integrity, and capability to execute within a high-trust operating environment.
