About AMPAC

AMPAC is an early-stage civic and public affairs initiative in the process of organizational formation and build-out. We are developing governance, infrastructure, and operating practices from the ground up with high standards, clear approvals, and strong documentation so the work remains credible, lawful, and execution-driven.
This role is contingent on completion of organizational formation steps, internal governance approvals, and funding availability; AMPAC may pause or revise the role during the build-out period.

Formation and Status Disclaimer

AMPAC is being organized as a District of Columbia nonprofit corporation and intends to operate as an organization described in Section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code and to seek recognition of such status from the Internal Revenue Service. Until formation steps are completed and any IRS recognition is received (if sought), AMPAC’s structure, roles, internal policies, and public-facing materials may be updated, refined, or revised. The AMPAC website and related materials may include wording or features referencing “501(c)(4)” or civic engagement activities; such materials are presented for informational purposes during the build-out phase and are subject to change.

The Opportunity

AMPAC is seeking a Social Media Manager (Remote) to build and operate a disciplined social media function across key platforms. This role is for a strong operator who can produce high-quality content, maintain consistency, and execute within clear approvals, documentation, and compliance boundaries in a public-facing environment.

Key Responsibilities
• Content strategy and execution: Build and manage an editorial calendar aligned with approved priorities and organizational positioning.
• Platform management: Operate AMPAC’s social channels (including scheduling, posting, moderation, and basic community management) with consistent tone and professionalism.
• Content production: Draft, edit, and publish short-form and long-form posts; coordinate basic graphics, clips, and captions; maintain brand consistency.
• Growth and engagement: Improve reach and engagement through ethical, transparent tactics, testing, and iteration.
• Analytics and reporting: Track performance metrics and provide simple weekly/monthly reporting, including what worked, what did not, and recommended adjustments.
• Approval discipline: Follow internal review and approvals for public-facing content; maintain records of approvals, final assets, and publishing logs.
• Risk-aware moderation: Apply escalation procedures for sensitive comments, threats, impersonation, doxxing, or harassment; support a respectful community standard.
• Coordination: Work closely with leadership and designated reviewers to ensure content remains accurate, public-safe, and aligned with governance posture.

Compliance and Boundaries
• This role does not involve campaign activity; all work must remain within lawful issue advocacy and applicable election-law boundaries, with documented approvals.
• Content must follow internal compliance requirements, including review procedures and documentation standards.

Candidate Profile

Ideal qualifications include:
• 3+ years of experience managing social media for a mission-driven organization, public affairs, nonprofit, media, or comparable public-facing brand.
• Strong writing/editing ability with excellent judgment, especially on sensitive topics.
• Demonstrated ability to execute independently in a remote environment with limited infrastructure while maintaining documentation and approvals.
• Familiarity with content scheduling tools, basic analytics, and platform best practices.
• Professionalism under pressure and comfort operating in a high-visibility, high-scrutiny environment.
• Experience collaborating with reviewers (legal/compliance/leadership) and implementing revisions quickly and accurately.

Work Model and Location
• Remote role. Candidates must be based anywhere within the United States.

Compensation
• $32,000–$50,000 USD annually, commensurate with experience and scope of responsibility.

What You Will Help Build

A credible, disciplined grassroots civic institution with a public voice rooted in responsible engagement, clear approvals, and long-term trust.

How to Apply

Please submit:
• Resume or LinkedIn profile
• A short statement of interest (why AMPAC, why now)
• 3–5 examples of social posts or campaigns you produced (links or screenshots)
• Optional: a one-page sample content plan for 2 weeks (platforms, themes, cadence)

Equal Opportunity Note

AMPAC evaluates candidates based on merit, alignment with mission, integrity, and capability to execute within a high-trust operating environment.
