Slitter Process Engineering Manager Job

Manage slitter engineering processes for steel production, including hot rolled coil, cold rolled coil, and cold heading quality (CHQ) wire rod, ensuring stringent technical specifications and material integrity. Direct and optimize heavy slitting line operations by synchronizing pickling process data with slitting parameters to minimize material stress and internal defects in CHQ products. Establish and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for surface treatment and mechanical shearing to maintain the high-quality surface finish required for subsequent cold forging and drawing processes. Lead engineering projects for yield improvement and scrap reduction by analyzing the metallurgical properties of steel coils and adjusting knife clearances and tension control systems. Collaborate with R&D and Production departments to develop specialized processing techniques for new CHQ steel grades, evaluating pickling efficiency and shearability. Review and approve engineering budgets, equipment upgrades, and maintenance schedules for the slitting line to enhance workplace safety standards.

• Bachelor’s degree in any engineering major, followed by 5 years of progressive experience in pickling or slitter process control in the steel manufacturing environment
