• Oversees and manages the Richmond, VA PSS site


• Manages the day to day operation of the analytical laboratory to insure smooth flow of samples and testing with a focus on operational excellence


• Hires, coaches, reviews, manages, and terminates assigned staff


• Oversees the scheduling of laboratory staff to insure client business needs are met


• Counsels laboratory staff with regard to problems encountered in daily operations


• Oversees the orientation of new laboratory staff to their responsibilities and the function of the laboratory


• Identifies process improvements to better meet client expectations and company objectives; drives operational excellence


• Serves as a liaison for the laboratory to the PSS client


• Performs duties in compliance with all applicable regulatory and accrediting agencies


• Apply the highest quality standard in all areas of responsibility


• Demonstrate and promote the company vision


• Meet all quality and productivity metrics, and demonstrate strong teamwork and collaboration

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry or other science related degree concentration, or equivalent directly-related experience. Business Management education or experience preferred


• 10 + years of hands on related experience Leadership experience


• Scientific background with hands on tobacco and/or consumer product laboratory experience


• Strong leadership skills


• A good understanding of day to day business operations, specifically reated to analytical laboratories


• Demonstrate strong client service skills, teamwork, and collaboration


• Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills


• Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude


• Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies


• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., with additional hours as needed as workloads demand.
