Norwest Millwork Ltd has established a reputation for outstanding quality and service in residential and commercial woodwork fabrication. The company is located at 138 Riverside Dr., North Vancouver, BC. We are currently seeking an experienced Site Cabinetmakers Foreman to join our team as soon as possible. This is a full-time (37,5 hours weekly), permanent position for mature individuals with an extensive background in carpentry and/or the cabinetmaking trade. We offer a competitive wage rate and WCB coverage. All applicants should be able to communicate in English. However, given the demographics in the Lower Mainland, the ability to communicate in a second language will be an asset.

Duties and responsibilities
• Supervise, coordinate and schedule the activities of cabinet installers, cabinetmakers, apprentices, helpers and labourers engaged in the installation of custom cabinetry, millwork, fixtures and interior finishing at residential, commercial and institutional construction sites.
• Review project drawings, specifications and site conditions, and resolve installation issues by coordinating field adjustments and ensuring compliance with project requirements.
• Coordinate daily installation activities with project managers, general contractors, and subcontractors to ensure work is completed according to project schedules and specifications.
• Establish work methods to meet project timelines, assign tasks to crew members and monitor the progress and quality of on-site installation work.
• Requisition and coordinate the delivery of materials, hardware, tools and equipment required for installation activities.
• Resolve work-related issues and recommend measures to improve productivity, efficiency and quality of installation work.
• Train or arrange for the training of cabinet installers, apprentices and labourers in installation techniques, quality standards and safe work practices.
• Recommend personnel actions such as hiring and promotions
• Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, company safety policies and safe work procedures at all job sites.
• Prepare work schedules, progress reports, installation records and other project-related documentation.
• Inspect completed installation work to ensure it meets project specifications, quality standards and client expectations.

Requirements:
Secondary school completion
Experience: at least 5 years of working experience (cabinetmaking/carpentry)
Language: English
