Shotcrete Finisher Job

Structural Shotcrete Ltd. is looking for experienced Shotcrete Finishers to join our company. The selected candidates will be working at various locations on site in Surrey, BC and surrounding area.

Job Description:
These positions are in the work setting of Commercial, Institutional and Industrial construction. Please note that the work environment is dusty. Due to the nature of the industry day, night, weekend and overtime shifts will be required. The major work area is construction: repair and patch and specialized in decorative finishing, curing concrete and slab Installation. The successful candidates will be required to work in confined locations, work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages and instruct apprentices. These positions are physically demanding, handling heavy loads, bending, crouching and kneeling. The candidates will be required to work with hardeners and epoxies, colours and sealers and lightweight concrete.
The employer will be providing extended Health and Dental benefits and Disability insurance to the successful candidates once the probationary period has been completed.

Job Duties include:
• check formwork, granular base and steel reinforcement material
• direct placement of concrete into forms or surfaces
• operate power vibrators to compact concrete
• level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specifications
• finish concrete surfaces using hand and power tools
• apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces
• repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures
• strip concrete forms, cut control joints, erect
• scaffolding and swing stages

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent 40 hours / week
Start Date: As soon as possible
Salary: $36.60 per hour

The candidates must be able to communicate in the English language and must have job related college certificate, trade program combines with some experience, or equivalent work experience related to Shotcrete Finishing. Completion of secondary school is required.

The successful candidates are expected to have the following essential skills; reading text; document use; numeracy; writing; communication; working with others; problem solving; decision making; critical thinking; job task planning and organizing; finding Information; computer use; continuous learning.

The successful candidates should have a Concrete Finisher Trade Certificate through BC’s Industry Training Authority or an equivalent trade certificate from aboard, WHMIS as preferred qualifications. Valid driver's licence, basic security clearance; criminal record check; driver's validity license check is required qualifications.
