shipping and receiving clerk Job

DUTY:
• Determine method of shipment and arrange shipping
• Scheduling distribution of goods and transportation conveyances
• Prepare bills of lading, customs forms, invoices and other shipping documents manually or by computer
• Assemble containers and crates
• Track the inventory of shipping supplies and recorder as needed
• Pack goods to be shipped and affix identifying information and shipping instructions
• Oversee loading and unloading of goods from trucks or other conveyances
• Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents
• Unpack, code and route goods to appropriate storage areas
• Maintain internal, manual or computerized record-keeping systems
• Supervising material handlers and helpers
• Paying and receiving payments for goods
• Prepare daily, weekly, or monthly reports on shipping activities, delivery times, and any issue encountered during the shipping and receiving process.

Education:
College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 6 months to less than 1 year
Experience: 1-2 years of experience will be an asset, but willing to train applicants if experience is lacking
Strong organizational and time management skills
Attention to details and accuracy in handling shipments
Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
