Service Technician - motor vehicle repair Job

• Confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace unit
• Discuss work with supervisor
• Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions
• Inspect mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions
• Inspect motor in operation
• Review work orders
• Road test motor vehicles
• Test automotive systems and components
• Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems
• Repair or replace mechanical units or components
• Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's specifications
• Estimate parts and labour cost to perform vehicle maintenance and repairs
• Perform scheduled maintenance service
• Test and adjust units to specifications
• Complete reports to record problems and work performed

• No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
• Must have 5 years or more of work experience.
• Must be able to communicate either English or French.
• Must be able to work in a dirty and noisy environment.
• Must be able to work in a garage setting.
• Must have own transportation and a valid Driver’s License.
• Must be able to provide a Driving record check.
• Must have an Automotive Service Technician Trade Certification.
• Work conditions and physical capabilities include strong hand-eye co-ordination, attention to detail, and manual dexterity, as well as the ability to stand for extended periods.
• Own tools/equipment required include tools and steel-toed safety boots.
• Personal suitability includes accuracy, dependability, excellent written communication, reliability, teamwork, and punctuality.
• Must be willing to work on-site.
