A leading manufacturer and service provider of industrial power transmission equipment is seeking a Service Center Engineer to support its regional service center. This position is responsible for providing engineering support for the inspection, repair, modification, and upgrade of complex industrial gearboxes and rotating equipment.

The Service Center Engineer will work closely with operations, quality, suppliers, field service personnel, and customers to develop technical repair solutions, perform failure analysis, create engineering documentation, and ensure equipment is restored to reliable operating condition. This role offers excellent exposure to engineering, manufacturing, and customer-facing activities while supporting critical equipment used across a variety of industrial markets.

Essential Responsibilities:
Evaluate customer equipment and determine the condition of components, identifying items that can be reused, repaired, or replaced.

Develop technical repair scopes and engineering solutions to restore equipment to full operational capability.

Perform root cause failure analysis and prepare technical reports for customers and internal stakeholders.

Interpret customer requirements and translate them into repair, modification, or upgrade plans.

Reverse engineer components and assemblies as required to support repair and manufacturing activities.

Perform engineering calculations to support the manufacture of new gears and repair of existing gearing systems.

Design components and assemblies and create detailed engineering drawings utilizing CAD software.

Develop bills of material and engineering documentation for new and repair projects.

Create job travelers and manufacturing instructions outlining repair processes and operational requirements.

Provide technical support to manufacturing personnel throughout inspection, repair, assembly, and testing activities.

Support suppliers, field service personnel, customer service teams, and customers with technical guidance and troubleshooting assistance.

Participate in quality assurance activities including nonconformance investigations, supplier quality reviews, calibration support, and corrective actions.

Support the site's Quality Management System and maintain compliance with ISO certification requirements.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with customer expectations.

Assist in the technical training and development of shop personnel as required.

Qualifications
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering required.

1+ years of engineering experience supporting mechanical power transmission equipment, rotating equipment, or industrial machinery; internship and co-op experience will be considered.

Experience with gearbox design, repair, inspection, or power transmission systems preferred.

Proficiency with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD design software.

Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, manufacturing processes, and engineering documentation.

Experience performing failure analysis, reverse engineering, and technical troubleshooting preferred.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong communication and technical writing skills with the ability to interface effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.

Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and organization.

Self-motivated individual with strong problem-solving skills and a desire to develop technical expertise within a service and manufacturing environment.
