The hours and location you’ll work in as a Senior Wastewater Plant Technician with WM:
Monday – Friday every week

The normal setting for this job is a repair / maintenance shop at our Tinton Falls, NJ hauling site.
I. Job Summary
Operates sewage treatment, sludge processing, and disposal equipment in wastewater (sewage) treatment plant to control flow and processing of sewage.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.
Monitors control panels and adjusts valves and gates manually or by remote control to regulate flow of sewage.
Observes variations in operating conditions and interprets meter and gauge readings and tests results to determine load requirements.
Starts and stops pumps, engines, and generators to control flow of raw sewage through filtering, settling, aeration, and sludge digestion processes.
Maintains log of operations and records meter and gauge readings.
Collects sewage sample and conducts laboratory tests.
Operates and maintains power generating equipment to provide steam and electricity for plant.
III. Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has no supervisory duties.
IV. Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.
A. Education and Experience
Education: High school diploma or G.E.D (accredited).
Experience: Minimum of four (4) years previous experience (in addition to education requirements).
B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements
None required.
C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required
None required.
The expected base pay range for this position across the U.S. is $36 - $42. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific salary offered to a successful candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
