Overview:

The Senior Vice President of Shared Services for North America will be responsible for leading and managing the shared services functions across the region, including finance, human resources, information technology, legal, and procurement. The Senior Vice President of Shared Services for North America reports to the President and is a member of the executive leadership team.

Duties:

• Determine, develop and implement the shared services strategy, direction, and vision for North America, aligned with the global and regional business objectives and priorities;
• Oversee the delivery and performance of the shared services functions, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective, and customer-focused services;
• Allocate, budgets for human, services and financial resources to implement organizational policies and programs;
• Establish financial and administrative controls;
• Formulate real estate needs and deploy appropriate resources ;
• Approve overall human resources planning for the Shared Services department;
• Drive continuous improvement and innovation in the shared services processes, systems, and technologies, leveraging best practices and industry standards;
• Build and maintain strong relationships with the business leaders and stakeholders across the region, understanding their needs and expectations and ensuring alignment and collaboration;
• Select middle managers, directors or other executive staff; delegate the necessary authority to them and create optimum working conditions;
• Lead, coach, and develop a diverse and high-performing team of shared services professionals, including senior staff positions, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and engagement;
• Represent Odgers Berndtson, or delegate representatives to act on behalf of Odgers Berndtson, in negotiations or other official functions;
• Manage the shared services budget and resources, ensuring compliance with the financial policies and procedures;
• Ensure compliance with the legal, regulatory, and professional standards and requirements in the shared services functions and the wider business; and
• Manage compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements particularly when working cross border.

Requirements:
• A bachelor’s degree in business or a related field is required.
• A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, legal or related field, including extensive senior management or director level experience in a multi-disciplinary global business.
• Strong understanding of how to develop back-office functions and processes that can support high growth business.
• Significant knowledge of, and experience of working in a combined offering of executive search, leadership assessment and interim markets is key, as delivery of client assignments across the region is a fundamental aspect of the shared services function.
• Demonstratable experience in leading and managing shared services functions across multiple geographies and within disparate business areas.
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality, cost-effective, and customer-focused service solutions.
• Strong knowledge and expertise in processes, and systems to include procuring cloud-based solutions with a strong understanding in accounting and finance, human resources, payroll information technology, legal, and procurement.
• Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to drive change and innovation.
• Exceptional communication, collaboration, and influencing skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
• Outstanding leadership, coaching, and people management skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop a diverse and high-performing team.
• High degree of integrity and professionalism.
