Senior Software Engineer Job

Zoetis, Inc. Performs software architecture, design, development, and implementation for the design and advancement of biodevices for the animal health industry. Leads full-cycle software development for bio-medical devices, integrating electro-mechanical, pneumatic motion systems, optical sensing, signal processing, pick-and-place robotics, and fluid dispense mechanisms into robust, scalable software architectures. Authors software requirements and detailed specifications from sparse customer inputs, enabling rapid adaptation to evolving market demands and regulatory needs in life sciences automation. Leads software design, development, and debugging processes through an understanding of machine control, data management, computer networking, and embedded PC hardware. Develops software needed for proof-of-concept of electrical, electronic, electro-mechanical, communications, and controls hardware for use in research or development of automated systems. Programs and debugs programmable logic controllers (PLCs), operator interfaces (HMIs), embedded controllers, and industrial PCs to deliver seamless hardware-software integration. Diagnoses and resolves complex hardware-software integration issues through systematic troubleshooting, minimizing downtime during development and field deployment. Applies software development lifecycle methodologies (including agile/iterative approaches where applicable) to deliver high-quality, maintainable code in regulated environments. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical and/or Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related and 5 years of experience required.
