Senior Scientist Job

Zoetis, Inc. Focused research in exploratory biology, specifically host-pathogen interactions of parasite/helminth diseases with an objective of identifying and validating therapeutic, vaccine, and biomarker targets. Utilize genomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics data to identify novel targets and assess therapeutic potential. Application of molecular biology, immuno-histochemistry, and microscopy/imaging to validate/localize pathogen targets. Collaboration with the Mechanistic Parasitology, Translational Biomarkers, Protein Therapeutics, Medicinal Chemistry, and Data Science teams to provide expert advice/service with target validation, proteomics, and transcriptomics for understanding the molecular biology of parasites and pathogenesis of parasitic diseases. Cross-functional interaction with the Genetics/Data Sciences and Parasitology Research groups to monitor genetic markers of drug resistance, and to provide expert advice/service in experimental design and to implement quality controls to assure high scientific standards. PhD in parasitology, biomedical sciences, or related and 2 years of experience required. Telecommuting may be permitted. When not telecommuting, must report to worksite.
