About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Safety Specialist to lead and elevate safety culture across multiple commercial construction projects throughout California. This role requires a seasoned safety professional who can balance compliance, leadership, and innovation — ensuring every build is completed with the highest standards of safety and care.
Position Overview
As the Senior Safety Specialist, you will serve as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor to project teams, leadership, and field staff. You’ll develop, implement, and maintain safety programs, conduct audits and risk assessments, and drive proactive initiatives that make safety a shared value across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the company’s safety program across multiple job sites in Northern and Southern California.
Conduct safety audits, inspections, and hazard assessments, identifying opportunities for improvement.
Deliver engaging safety training sessions, orientations, and toolbox talks to promote awareness and accountability.
Oversee incident investigations, perform root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions.
Partner with field teams, trade partners, and clients to ensure compliance with CAL/OSHA and internal safety standards.
Collect, analyze, and report safety performance metrics to support continuous improvement.
Collaborate with project management and operations teams to embed safety into planning and execution.
Qualifications
Minimum 12+ years of construction safety experience, with expertise in CAL/OSHA regulations.
Proven success developing and managing safety programs across multiple commercial job sites.
Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills to influence safety culture organization-wide.
Experience in healthcare, life sciences, or technology construction is highly desirable.
Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Occupational Health, or related field preferred.
Professional certifications such as CHST, CSP, CIH, OHST, CHMM, CSHM, CSD, or MSP are strongly preferred.
