Job Description:
Responsible for managing all technical aspects of multiple and/or major component design projects utilizing the Product Planning and Development Procedure. Design and validate sheet metal, cast, and forged components for heavy-duty trucks and trailers. Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using ANSYS to assess design integrity and ensure critical features meet safety standards. Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to mechanical components to guarantee fit, function, and manufacturability. Develop and execute test plans and provide test reports and sign-off documents. Coordinate technical design and test aspects with suppliers and customers, and support manufacturing by ensuring production readiness. Coordinate with CAD, FEA, laboratory personnel, and other departments to facilitate seamless project execution. Manage project timelines with suppliers and customers. Foster continuous improvement through employee development, process optimization, and elimination of waste. 5-10% domestic travel required.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related required. Two years of experience as Mechanical Engineer, Design Engineer, or related required. Experience must have included:
-Design and validation of cast components.
-Applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to mechanical components to ensure proper fit, function, and manufacturability.
- Implementing Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles to optimize product design for efficient production and assembly.
- Conducting Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) to identify and mitigate potential risks in product design and manufacturing processes.
- Conducting structural, environmental, and durability testing on mechanical components and providing detailed test reports.
- Managing designs from concept to completion, including timeline development and ensuring components are completed on schedule

In accordance with applicable pay transparency laws, the salary range for this position is $102,500.16 - $120,000. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, education, qualifications, and other job-related criteria.
