Position Title: Senior Platform Engineer
Location: 121 Theory, Irvine, CA, 92617
Position Responsibilities: Conduct complex software development tasks including Linux kernel customization and board bring up with vendor provided Board Support Package (BSP). Program in high-level and lowlevel languages as appropriate and required for the projects. Develop applications and drivers for operating systems such as Linux and embedded systems. Design and develop organized, easy-to-read and modify software source code. Debug using emulators, analyzers, simulators, and similar tools. Document software designs and code with specifications and source comments and end user documentation. Apply fundamental and advanced technology principles to multiple tasks. Demonstrate substantive knowledge of cross functional and related technical areas such as Wi-Fi or communications technologies. Research technologies and present complex findings with recommendations for integration into team technical strategy. Initiate, prepare, present, and lead design review meetings. Handle external customer interaction and provide direction to outsource engineering and resources. Support projects with cloud technologies, including MQTT and AWS API, as well as internet security protocols like SSL/TLS.
Position Requirements: Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, PLUS one (1) year of experience in the job offered or a related position. Experience must include demonstrable knowledge of: Development environment & build system for OpenWRT & Buildroot router devices; Wireless interfaces for Bluetooth, Zigbee, Z-wave, & Open-Thread; Linux-based device driver development & porting for SPI, I2C, Ethernet, USB & PCIE interfaces; Bootloader for U-boot embedded devices; MQTT; XMPP; Internet security protocols TLS/SSL, SSH, & IPsec; AWS & Azure web service environment; C; C++, and; Shell scripting. May telecommute from any location within the U.S.
