Senior Manager, Technical Infrastructure Job

The Senior Manager, Technical Infrastructure directs the architecting, planning, and operations of GMAC's information technology infrastructure, including local and wide area unified communications, application and database servers, disaster recovery, capacity planning, data security, desktops/ laptops/mobile devices, and IT helpdesk support. The role provides a secure, reliable, and robust infrastructure for the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee entire corporate infrastructure and network landscape, including headquarters and data centers. This role involves facilitating the planning, execution, and enhancement of all infrastructure components, ranging from servers, firewalls, and virtual machines to VPNs, PCs, phone systems, messaging platforms, SAN, mobile devices, and voice and data circuits.
- Consult with department leads including Application Development and Project Management leaders on short- and long-term business requirements in the areas of Infrastructure platforms, voice and data networks, environment and security management, information access, directory services, messaging, and application integration.
- Provide leadership in the planning, management, and integration of information systems, data networks, and telecommunications; Identify trends; Evaluate, recommend, and implement new technologies in support of business and IT objectives.
- Maintain an awareness of GMAC's business activities, operations, and strategies, and ensure that all infrastructure systems are aligned with and support business objectives.
- Manage assigned budget and assist in the annual budgeting process by providing accurate forecast data.
- Management of technical vendor relationships and facilitate efforts towards effective cost attainment; Negotiate equipment purchases and contracts as well as equipment and software financing/lease options.
- Minimize downtime to ensure that projects are on schedule and completed on time.
- Contribute to the evaluation of hardware and software contractors and recommend courses of action.
- Provide management with accurate, timely and relevant information about the status of projects, personnel, and activities within the Technical Infrastructure area.
- Partner with departmental staff to formulate strategies driven by GMAC's overall business strategies and objectives for the infrastructure area to improve its technical and operational performance.
- Lead, develop and inspire a high-performing team; Communicate clearly and directly with employees concerning performance expectations, productivity, and accountability.
- Develop goals and objectives for the Technical Infrastructure area.
- Be on-call as needed.
- Other responsibilities and duties, as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from accredited university in Computer Science or related field; Or equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience.
- 5 years' experience in related field.
- 2 years' progressive supervisory experience.
- Experience in infrastructure development, including developing and managing budgets.
- Experience with LAN/WAN networks, Internet technologies such as DNS, system helpdesks, PC support functions and technology infrastructure operations.
- Experience supporting or managing business critical infrastructure components, including enterprise storage (SAN/NAS -Nimble) and virtualization technologies (VMWare preferred), Microsoft Networking and Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, Internet Information Services, Cisco networking, VoIP, Disaster Recovery.
- Experience using cloud services, such as Microsoft Azure (Preferred) or AWS.
- Experience working with offshore teams.
- Ability to guide others in resolving complex issues of significance to the organization.
- Exceptional organizational, prioritization, project planning, and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a team setting, and across external and internal stakeholder groups.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong attention to detail, with a keen focus on quality.
- Strong analytical and risk management skills.
- Comfort with multi-tasking.
- Ability to work in-office and remotely according to GMAC's hybrid work environment.
- Ability to travel to various GMAC locations, when needed.

Desired Skills/Experience:
- Advanced knowledge of Voice and Data Networks and System Administration (including Data Center Management), information security and disaster recovery.
- Ability to inform, educate and influence supervisors and employees to support infrastructure goals and objectives.
- Experience with Office 365, network and system monitoring, VPN (client and site to site), data backups, firewall and systems security, network switching and security routing.
- Experience working with DevOps teams and/or supporting teams transitioning to DevOps
