Position Responsibilities: Lead the architecture, design, and development of Power BI solutions, including data models, reports, dashboards, and dataflows. Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, translating them into effective Power BI solutions. Develop scalable and reusable Power BI solutions that adhere to best practices and industry standards. Design and implement robust data models that ensure data accuracy, consistency, and performance in Power BI. Integrate data from various sources, including on-premises databases, cloud services, and external APIs, into Power BI. Optimize data models for performance, ensuring efficient data retrieval and processing. Develop advanced DAX formulas and Power Query transformations to create complex calculations and data transformations. Create visually appealing and user-friendly reports and dashboards that provide actionable insights. Implement drill-through, bookmarks, and other advanced features to enhance the user experience. Work closely with data engineers, data scientists, business analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and alignment of Power BI solutions with other data and analytics initiatives. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers and analysts. Lead workshops, training sessions, and demos to promote the adoption and effective use of Power BI across the organization. Establish and enforce Power BI governance practices, including naming conventions, data security, and report lifecycle management. Ensure compliance with data governance policies, data privacy regulations, and organizational standards. Stay up to date with the latest Power BI features, updates, and best practices, and recommend their adoption where applicable. Identify opportunities to enhance existing Power BI solutions and processes, driving continuous improvement and innovation. Monitor and assess the performance of Power BI solutions, making recommendations for optimization and scalability. Contribute to the development of a Power BI Center of Excellence (CoE) within the organization.
Position Requirements: Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, or a related field, PLUS demonstrable knowledge of: Power BI; DAX; Databricks; SQL; SSRS; Microstrategy; Qlik; Cognos; Azure Data Stack; Snowflake, and; DBT. Required knowledge may be gained prior to or concurrently with Master’s degree. Travel to unanticipated client locations throughout the U.S., approximately 30%, as required. May telecommute from any location within the U.S.
