Required Skills:
7+ years of experience in Java application development.
Strong expertise in Java 17, Spring Boot, Maven, and RESTful APIs.
Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services including ECS, Lambda, S3, EventBridge, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, RDS/Aurora, and CloudWatch.
Experience building cloud-native, event-driven enterprise applications.
Strong experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, and CloudFormation.
Proficiency with automated testing frameworks including JUnit, Mockito, Cucumber, Playwright, and Cypress.
Understanding of Twelve-Factor Application principles.
Knowledge of application security best practices and vulnerability mitigation.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
AWS Certified Developer – Associate (or higher).
Experience with Angular for front-end development.
Knowledge of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) systems.
Experience with AWS CDK and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Railroad or transportation domain experience, preferably Amtrak.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze business requirements and design scalable enterprise solutions.
Develop, test, and deploy Java/Spring Boot cloud-native applications on AWS.
Build and maintain event-driven backend services and EDI integrations.
Support CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and production deployments.
Troubleshoot production issues and optimize application performance.
Create and maintain technical documentation.
