Senior IT Project Manager Job

Job Title: Senior IT Project Manager (AI, Digital and Data Delivery)
Location: Edmonton, AB (Hybrid – 3 Days in office)
Duration: 12 Months Contract (Extensible)

Job description:
For this role, a deep understanding of both the application support space as well as Data and AI delivery is required.
The resource will be assigned to various projects including Justice Digital – the digital transformation of the Courts, Collaborative Transformative System - CTS Transformation – the restructure and building of the IT delivery organization including process, procedure, capabilities, etc.
The resource will be responsible for the following tasks/activities:
Develop and manage all aspects of project and program engagement from planning, external vendor relationships, communications, resources, budget, change, risks and issues in collaboration with the senior leadership team and internal stakeholders; Coordinate with stakeholders and schedule meetings.

Must Have Skills:
The proposed resource must meet or exceed one of the following:
University graduation in business, management or related discipline, and four years of Project Management (PM) experience; OR Two-year diploma in business, management or related discipline and six years of PM experience; OR One year certificate in business, management or related discipline and seven years of PM experience;
Eight years of PM experience
Experience defining project scope and goals in collaboration with business stakeholders.
Experience developing project deliverables including project charters, business cases, briefing notes, status reports, risk logs and project closures.
Experience managing custom application development projects with at least 5 team members.
Experience managing data and AI development, delivery and support projects/teams with at least 5 team members.
Experience managing multiple projects concurrently.
Experience successfully implementing IT solutions in an environment with project resources from across multiple teams or organizations.
Experience working as a Project Manager on a large complex custom software application development project (where the software is developed in house for that specific organization) in an environment of similar size.

Nice to Have:
Experience conducting, facilitating and interpreting impact and risk assessments across multiple scenarios.
Experience creating and managing project forecast and actual budgets.
Experience developing and maintaining positive stakeholder relationships across the organization, including executive level.
Experience making decisions and recommendations on highly technical or complex issues without formal guidelines or precedents and exercises resourcefulness and ingenuity
Experience working in or for the public sector.
Experience working with Mandated and Legislated Projects within short timelines.
Experience leading project governance, change management and communication activities.
Experience working with technical teams on complex IMT projects.
