Senior Hairstylist Job

Luxor Hair Salon in Vancouver, BC, is looking for a competent, experienced Senior Hairstylist.

Position: Senior Hairstylist
Number of Positions: 1
Work Hours: 30 - 35hrs/week (Full-time)
Wage: $36.65 ~ $37.00 per hour
Vacation: 10 days paid vacation or 4% of gross of salary for vacation
Work Location: 2173 West 41st Ave., Vancouver, BC V6M 1Z6
Language of Work: English

Job duties:
-Style customer’s hair by cutting, bleaching, tinting, dying, trimming, curling, colouring, perming, blow drying, ironing and tapering
-Suggest suitable hair styles to the customer based on customer’s physical features
-Must be professional using hair styling equipment including scissors, razor, iron and others
-Supervise other hair stylists and other staff
-Follow a customer’s hair style instruction and preference to style hair
-Check a customer’s hair and scalp condition and suggest/provide custom scalp and/or hair care-treatment
-Extend or style a client’s hair with artificial hair styling materials
-Clean and organize hair styling equipment
-If the shop is busy, may have to shampoo or rinse a client’s hair
-Ensure a customer is satisfied with the hair style

A minimum of 3 years of hairstyling experience is required.
Completion of secondary education is required.
Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service skills are needed.
Hair styling techniques used in cutting, blow drying, iron waving/curling, permanents, extensions and roller setting are required.
Hair colouring techniques, including bleach, dyes/tints and streaking and highlights, are required.
