Job Description:
• Perform equipment performance analysis using downtime, yield, and throughput data to identify recurring loss patterns and support targeted improvement actions;
• Support and execute equipment improvement projects addressing chronic downtime, yield loss, throughput limitations, and recurring equipment performance issues across manufacturing processes;
• Conduct advanced root cause analysis on recurring or high-impact equipment problems and implement corrective actions to improve long-term equipment reliability and production stability;
• Design and carry out equipment modification and retrofit work to improve equipment reliability, accuracy, maintainability, and operational performance;
• Analyze equipment speed, process flow, and bottleneck conditions and implement engineering improvements to optimize production rates and reduce operational constraints;
• Identify and address systemic yield loss factors related to equipment design, alignment, calibration, precision, and operating stability, and implement corrective measures to improve product quality and consistency;
• Evaluate equipment safety risks associated with maintenance activities, process changes, and equipment modifications, and apply safety-focused engineering measures during improvement activities;
• Provide technical support during process changes, equipment upgrades, and condition changes, and assist with stabilization of manufacturing lines following engineering modifications or operational changes;
• Collaborate with relevant teams to resolve technical equipment issues and support implementation of equipment improvement activities;
• Prepare and apply engineering documentation, maintenance procedures, technical methods, and standardized improvement practices to support consistent equipment performance;
• Monitor and analyze key performance indicators, including equipment downtime, yield, throughput, and overall equipment effectiveness, and track improvement results through documentation and standardization;
• Develop and implement equipment maintenance improvement plans to support equipment reliability, stable production performance, and long-term operational efficiency across manufacturing processes;
• Provide technical guidance to engineers and maintenance personnel regarding troubleshooting, maintenance practices, and continuous improvement methods based on equipment knowledge; and
• Review improvement results and implement follow-up corrective actions, standard operating methods, and preventive measures to sustain validated equipment performance improvements.
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related technical field with at least six (6) years of experience in equipment improvement, maintenance, and process support in lithium-ion battery manufacturing; or at least ten (10) years of such experience;
• Strong background in one or more manufacturing areas (Electrode, Assembly, Formation, or Module), with cross-process exposure preferred;
• Hands-on experience with equipment modification, retrofit, and performance optimization;
• Experience working in high-volume or advanced manufacturing environments; and
• Familiarity with Overall Equipment Effectiveness (“OEE”), operation rate, parts per million (“PPM”), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (“FMEA”), and/or structured continuous improvement methodologies.
