Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Design Engineer to lead the design, development, and documentation of low- and medium-voltage switchgear and power distribution systems.
This position provides technical leadership to design engineers and engineering interns while independently managing complex engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the design and development of low- and medium-voltage switchgear systems.
* Provide technical leadership and mentorship to Design Engineers and Engineering Interns.
* Review engineering deliverables for technical accuracy and compliance.
* Provide guidance on complex design challenges, protection schemes, control circuits, and customer requirements.
* Lead the development of one-line diagrams, schematics, and control circuits.
* Select and specify electrical components.
* Create and revise engineering drawings using AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical.
* Ensure designs comply with IEC, ANSI, UL, IEEE, and other applicable standards.
* Collaborate with mechanical designers, project managers, and manufacturing teams.
* Review customer specifications.
* Participate in customer technical review meetings.
* Resolve technical issues during manufacturing, testing, commissioning, and post-shipment activities.
* Support engineering standards, templates, and best practices.
* Identify opportunities for process improvement and standardisation.

* Bachelor’s degree.
* 7+ years of switchgear or power distribution equipment design experience.
* Experience leading complex projects from concept through manufacturing and testing.
* Experience reviewing engineering deliverables.
* Experience mentoring engineers.
* Advanced understanding of low- and medium-voltage systems up to 38kV.
* Knowledge of electrical protection and control systems.
* AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical experience.
* Knowledge of IEC, IEEE, UL, NEMA, and related standards.
* Switchgear manufacturing, testing, commissioning, or field-service experience preferred.
* 7+ years of switchgear or power distribution equipment design experience.
