Job Description:
Ebates Performance Marketing, Inc. dba Rakuten Rewards seeks a Senior Data Engineer in San Mateo, CA.
Duties: Design, build, and maintain scalable batch and streaming data pipelines to process data from internal and external sources. Develop and operate cloud-based data platforms supporting analytics, reporting, and machine learning workloads. Create and maintain enterprise data models, semantic layers, and standardized business metrics to ensure data consistency and historical accuracy. Optimize data processing performance through efficient data modeling, storage design, and compute tuning. lmplement data security, access controls, and compliance measures in alignment with organizational and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide technical guidance to support reliable, production-grade data systems. Telecommuting permitted within normal commuting distance from area of intended employment.
Minimum Requirements:
• Education: Master’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Experience: One (1) year of experience in developing applications and/or data engineering.
• Specific Skills: Must have education and/or experience in each of the following:
(1) Snowflake and/or Honeydew
(2) Python, Spark, and/or Scala
(3) Machine Learning and AI
(4) Comparative research on architecture and integration
(5) SQL
(6) Kubernetes
(7) Statistical methods
(8) Data Science
Pay Range and Benefits Information: The base salary for this role is between $168,418 to $239,030 per year. Individual compensation will vary based on job-related factors, including the skills, qualifications, and experience of the successful candidate. The successful applicant for this role will be eligible for discretionary bonus, health, vision, dental insurance, 401k matching, PTO, Volunteer Time Off (VTO), and other employee benefits as the company implements.
