Position Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Badminton Coach to guide athlete development by building technical skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship in a supportive and professional training environment.

Wages and Benefits
• $36.00 per hour
• 40 hours per week
• Health benefits available after three (3) months
• One (1) day off per week

Work Schedule
• Six (6) days per week on shift
• Weekend availability required (Saturdays and Sundays)

Key Responsibilities
• Plan, develop, and implement comprehensive badminton training programs for athletes of all skill levels, including both individualized and group coaching sessions
• Design and execute short-term and long-term athlete development plans that align with specific player goals and the club’s competitive performance objectives.
• Formulate advanced match strategies and tactical game plans, directing athletes during intensive training sessions, sanctioned matches, and tournament events.
• Analyze and evaluate individual and team performance through systematic observation, adjusting training methodologies and technical focus based on performance data.
• Execute high-intensity on-court drills specializing in footwork efficiency, stroke mechanics, service variety, net play, and tactical positioning.
• Identify young athletes with competitive potential and support their advancement to higher-level training or provincial programs
• Maintain records of athlete progress, training schedules, and competition results
• Oversee all training activities to ensure a safe environment in compliance with club policies, providing basic first aid assistance as needed.
• Coordinate with club administration regarding scheduling, tournaments, equipment inventory, and facility use at both Calgary locations
• Provide mentorship and motivation to athletes, fostering a positive, disciplined, and competitive training culture

Job Requirements:
Employment Requirements
• Education: A degree in physical education or a related field may be required.
• Certification: Completion of the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) is usually required, or equivalent international coaching certification
• Experience: Demonstrated experience in, and technical knowledge of, the sport of badminton at a competitive or national level is required.
• Development: Knowledge of athlete pathways and the ability to identify and develop competitive talent is required.
• Flexibility: Occasional travel between facilities may be necessary to support tournament schedules and equipment management.
• Others: Ability to transport coaching equipment as required
