Senior Automotive Service Technician, Truck and Bus Mechanic Job

Inspect, diagnose, and identify mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic defects in light-duty vehicles, heavy trucks, and buses. Repair, adjust, or replace major components including engines, powertrains, fuel systems, air braking systems, steering, suspension, chassis, frames, and hydraulic systems. Perform complete preventive maintenance and safety inspections in accordance with industry standards. Conduct road tests and operational testing to verify the conformity, performance, and safety of completed repairs. At a senior level, provide technical support and guidance to junior mechanics and apprentices, assist with complex diagnostics, and ensure that all work complies with workplace health and safety regulations while maintaining accurate service and inspection records.

Secondary school completion
Vocational or technical training in automotive or heavy-duty mechanics or equivalent experience
Several years of experience as an automotive, truck, or bus mechanic
Proven ability to diagnose, repair, and maintain mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
Strong knowledge of engines, transmissions, braking, steering, suspension, and related systems
Ability to perform preventive maintenance, inspections, road tests, and complex repairs independently
Capacity to provide technical support or guidance to junior mechanics
Knowledge of workplace health and safety standards
Functional proficiency in French or English (French preferred)
