Compensation: $167,100 – $226,100 USD annually (Arlington/Seattle base range)

Role Overview
As a Senior Applied Scientist, you will shape the science foundation for Prime Video’s ad-supported streaming platform. You will lead the development of machine learning and deep learning models to personalize the advertising experience for over 100 million customers, balancing revenue generation with long-term user engagement.

Key Responsibilities
Model Development: Design and deploy large-scale deep learning architectures (e.g., multi-task learning, embedding representations) to predict customer behavior.

Causal Inference & Experimentation: Design large-scale A/B experiments to measure and attribute minor engagement signals and navigate competing business objectives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering teams to scale models under strict production latency constraints and translate product goals into machine learning solutions.

Strategic Leadership: Define the team’s scientific roadmap and identify high-impact research directions.

Qualifications
Education & Experience: PhD with 3+ years, or a Master's degree with 6+ years of applied research experience building ML models for business applications.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in Java, C++, or Python, alongside experience with neural deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, JAX preferred).

Preferred: Familiarity with distributed systems (Hadoop, Spark) and large language model (LLM) fundamentals.
