Position: Senior Accountant
Working Hours: 40hrs per week, 5 days a week
Wage: $46.15 per hour

Main duties:
• Prepare year-end financial statements and supporting working papers for audit, review, and compilation engagements
• Develop review and compilation plans and provide ongoing updates to clients throughout the engagement
• Prepare corporate and personal income tax returns, as well as trust, not-for-profit, and other required information returns and schedules
• Review personal tax returns and oversee the electronic filing process to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Participate in fieldwork for review engagements as required
• Supervise, train, and mentor staff accountants by reviewing their work and providing guidance throughout assignments
• Provide bookkeeping services, including payroll preparation, government remittances (GST, PST, payroll, and WCB), and related transmission documentation
• Ensure client deadlines and requirements are met by appropriately assigning and managing work, including during periods of absence
• Prepare and deliver internal training sessions as required
• Perform general office duties and other responsibilities as assigned

• A university degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required
• Several years of experience in accounting, auditing, or financial management are required
• Completion of a recognized professional accounting training program is required
• A CPA designation or equivalent professional accounting/financial qualification required
• Experience with accounting and audit software such as CaseWare, Sage, QuickBooks, Pastel, Syspro, or equivalent systems is required.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, general ledger maintenance, and internal controls is required.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
