Job Summary:
We are seeking a seasoned technical Scrum Master to lead a team through a large multi-phase greenfield tax system program. This role serves as a Change Agent, guiding the team's transition from Waterfall to Agile while bridging the program team with the broader organization.
Key Responsibilities:
• Coach and mentor the team through Agile transformation from a Waterfall mindset
• Serve as the bridge between the agile program team and internal organization
• Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, Retrospective)
• Proactively identify and remove blockers, including vendor dependencies and integration issues
• Support the Product Owner with backlog refinement, prioritization, and platform recommendations
• Manage and track cross-team/vendor dependencies for transparent communication
Required Skills and Certification:
• 10+ years of experience in large multi-phase complex system implementations
• 3-5+ years as a Scrum Master in a software development environment
• Demonstrated experience supporting Waterfall-to-Agile transitions
• Experience managing complex dependencies on large greenfield enterprise systems
• Technical background
• Strong communication skills, including vendor relationship management
• Change Agent mindset with patience to navigate resistance to change
Preferred Skills and Certification:
• Experience in regulated industries
• Proficiency with Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar backlog/reporting tools
• Experience with COTS product implementations
• Knowledge of end-to-end data management, integration, conversion, and cleansing
• Served as both a scrum master and software developer
Scheduling:
• Hours: 40/week
• In-person interviews within 1 week
• Remote
