Position Title: Scientific Informatics Consultant
Location: 245 Main St. Floor 4, Cambridge MA 02142
Position Responsibilities: Provide consultative input to Customers involved in Research and Development, to help develop strategic roadmap to achieve long-term business goals. Meet with Stakeholders to understand Capability needs, Bottlenecks and Business Priorities. Use information and insights obtained from research and client discussions to provide input into business development strategy. Understand emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in the scientific space and evaluate key players adopting and developing solutions to support Research and Development. Engage with Industry Experts and Leaders to understand Industry Focus and direction for the future. Understand Industry Regulations and Compliance requirements from Regulatory agencies. Engage with development team to help design and deploy scientific solutions for Research Scientists and Lab Analysts. Meet with Business Subject Matter Experts and Users to understand their business processes. Engage with Portfolio Management team to govern and manage the execution of R&D Informatics projects. Create Project Charter. Define SDLC Methodology.
Position Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Life Science, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Science, OR a related field PLUS five (5) years of experience in the job offered or a related position. At least 3 years of demonstrated domain knowledge and COTS product configuration, implementation and managed services support plus 2 years of experience in project management and solution implementation. Experience must include demonstrable knowledge in two or more of the following: Drug Discovery and Development functions, Lab Operations Management, Robotic Systems Integration, GMP, Manufacturing and Quality Control, Continuous Manufacturing Process. Technical experience including database proficiency in Oracle or SQL, Operating system familiarity with Unix or Windows, Software development process with Waterfall or Agile, Testing and Computer Software validation, proficiency with MS Office Tools, in-depth understanding of minimum one of the following tools: EDC systems, CTMS systems, Data Warehousing Tools, LIMS Systems, ELN Platforms, Research Informatics platforms, Reporting platforms. Alternatively, will accept Master’s degree in Life Science, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Science, OR a related field PLUS two (2) years of described experience. Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable. May telecommute once a week from any location within the U.S. Travel to unanticipated client locations approximately 25%, as required.
