SC Medical Receptionist II Job

Cook Children's Physician Network is looking for a friendly and energetic candidate to be our Medical Receptionist. The Receptionist II is intimately involved with the operations and revenue cycle management of the clinic as it relates to providing excellent customer service, maintaining patient flow, answering phones promptly and courteously and maintaining schedules, benefit collection, charge entry, claim edits and follow-up with Payors and Guarantors, posting/editing/deleting office charges, payments and adjustments. The Receptionist II is expected to adhere to all CCPN policies. This position will provide the ability to grow with Cook Children's Physician Network as it continues to increase its medical services throughout the region.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• At least two years of experience in a physician medical office or one year of Cook Children's Physician Network medical office experience using a modern EMR system such as Epic or comparable.
• Broad understanding of diversified insurance plans with experience obtaining insurance pre certifications and authorizations.
• Strong collection experience preferred.
• General understanding of referral procedures a plus.
• Knowledge of coding and medical terminology.
• Exhibit good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Maturity to withstand pressure that may arise in relation to the public and physician.

*This position will eventually work one half-day on Saturdays in the clinic.*
