Job Duties:
Double Cut Band Saw operator will operate wood processing equipment and machines to saw logs of all species. The main activities and tasks involve:
● Operate double cut band saw at an acceptable production level.
● Obtain knowledge of his equipment to ensure it is maintained and operating in a proper and efficient manner.
● Obtain knowledge of lumber grade to be able to maximize value from every single log going into production.
● Work efficiently and safely.
● This position is the head of the production line and determines the daily production almost single handedly. The crew
will count on this individual to obtain possible production bonuses.
● Start up, shut down, set up, adjust and assist in maintaining processing equipment and machines as required.
● Complete and maintain production reports.
Skills Required:
● Organizational skills to be able to turn a quicker production.
● Keep a neat and clean workstation.
● Proven attention to detail with high level of accuracy.
● Effective ability to follow directions.
● Ability to work effectively as part of team and independently.
● Capable to multi-task, self-manage and self-motivate.
● Demonstrate good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards.
Experience Required:
● On-the-job training is provided.
Education Required:
● Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
Wage & Hours: $28.50 per hour
● Number of hours per day: 9
● Number of days per week: 5
● Number of hours per week: 44
● Overtime starts after how many hours: 44
● Shift rotation (as applicable): n/a
