Blue Houdini Software builds custom web applications for small and mid-sized businesses. We use AI-assisted development to deliver in days or weeks what traditional dev shops take months and tens of thousands of dollars to do. We need a sales partner to find the clients and close the deals.

This is a contract, commission-only role. There is no base salary and no existing pipeline. You will be building the business alongside the developer. In return, the commission structure is simple and uncapped: a floor price is set per project based on complexity, and everything above that floor is yours.

For example, if the developer sets the floor on a project at $5,000, and you sell it for $12,000, you keep $7,000. (He will not set unfair or unrealistic floors, he wants you to make the sale.)

Typical project values range from $5,000 to $30,000.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Identify small and mid-sized businesses that are stuck on SaaS they don't like or managing their operations through spreadsheets. Talk to them, understand their problems, figure out what they actually need, scope a realistic project, and close it.

Target clients include trades contractors, property managers, gym and studio owners, pet daycare and boarding facilities, and similar small business operators.

You will work directly with the developer to make sure what you're selling is buildable within the client's budget and timeline. You are not handing off leads to a sales team. You own the relationship from first contact through signed deal.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

B2B sales experience. You have sold to business owners before and you know how to have a real conversation about their operations, not just pitch features.

The ability to scope realistically. You can figure out what a client needs and, just as importantly, you know when to say no. Overpromising is the single biggest risk in this business.

A basic understanding of technology, or a willingness to learn quickly. You don't need to be a developer, but you need to know enough about what software can and can't do to have credible conversations with clients.

Self-direction. There is no manager, no pipeline handed to you, no marketing department. You find the opportunities.

Central Ohio preferred but not required.
