Safety Officer Job

Primeline Logistics Inc. is hiring a Safety Officer to lead health, safety, and compliance across our trucking and yard operations. The role implements policies, conducts inspections and investigations, delivers training, and advises leadership to drive a safe, compliant, and high-performance workplace.

Key Responsibilities:
-Administer staff consultation and grievance procedures
-Direct and control daily operations
-Direct staff
-Evaluate daily operations
-Plan and organize daily operations
-Train staff
-Establish and implement policies and procedures
-Inspect workplaces for safety or health hazards
-Plan, develop and implement recruitment strategies
-Investigate workplace accidents or illnesses
-Manage contracts
-Oversee the preparation of reports
-Advise senior management
-Respond to employee questions and complaints
-Recruit and hire staff
-Conduct performance reviews
-Evaluate work environments, programs and procedures to control, -eliminate, and prevent disease or injury
-Supervise/coordinate staff in various areas to meet safety and operational standards.

Must-Haves

-College/CEGEP or equivalent combination of education/experience; OHS-related education preferred.

-Certificates (or ability to obtain shortly after hire): Occupational Health & Safety, First Aid, WHMIS.

-Strong knowledge of Ontario H&S legislation, trucking/yard best practices, incident investigation, and corrective actions.

-Proficiency with MS Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel, Access; tablet computers; familiarity with dispatch/service software an asset.

-Excellent written and oral communication; strong judgment, organization, attention to detail, and accountability.

-Ability to work independently, handle multiple priorities, and maintain confidentiality.
