RN-Emergency Room Job

Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients of all ages.
Prioritize patient care needs in an acute setting and respond quickly to emergencies.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals and external providers to ensure efficient patient management.
Monitor and interpret vital signs and cardiac rhythms; respond per clinical protocols.
Administer medications and perform medical procedures per hospital policies.
Ensure proper documentation of patient care using EMR systems.
Uphold patient rights and comply with legal regulations, including informed consent and reporting mandates.
Maintain clinical equipment and supplies and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications:

Associate's degree in nursing or higher.
Active RN license in Iowa or a multistate license eligible in Iowa.
Certification in BLS, ACLS, PALS (within 6 months of hire), and TNCC (within 12 months of hire).
Mandatory Reporter certification for Child and Dependent Adult Abuse in Iowa.
Preferred Experience:

Previous ER nursing experience preferred.
6-12 months experience in medical/surgical or critical care environments is beneficial.
