Restaurant Manager
MISATO SUSHI AND KITCHEN LTD. dba Sushi Sai in Kelowna, BC is looking for a full-time and permanent Restaurant Manager.
Conditions:
• Position: Restaurant Manager (NOC 60030)
• Full-time, Permanent position
• Wage: $38.50/hour
• Working Hours: minimum 30 hours/week
• Ability to do shift work (daytime, evenings, weekends, and holidays)
• Vacation: 4% gross salary
• Positions Available: 1
Requirements:
• Education; Completion of high school
• Experience: more than 5 years of experience in restaurant, including supervisory experience

Job Duties:
Operational Leadership & Strategic Management:
• Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate the overall daily operations of Sushi Sai, ensuring seamless dining room and kitchen synchronization in a high-volume authentic Japanese restaurant setting.
• Establish and implement standardized operational procedures, service standards, and workflow optimizations tailored to Japanese culinary service and customer expectations.
• Monitor daily floor operations to maintain high-quality service levels, food presentation standards, and consistent order throughput during peak business hours.
Cost Control & Pricing Strategy:
• Control inventory, analyze sales trends, and monitor daily and monthly revenues to maximize operational profitability and reduce food waste.
• Check daily financial records, and adjust staff scheduling to meet budgetary goals.
• Regularly review menu pricing structures and portion controls in coordination
for fluctuating market prices of specialty Japanese ingredients and seafood.
Inventory & Specialty Seafood Supply Chain Management:
• Negotiate supply agreements and vendor terms for high-grade sushi-grade seafood, fresh produce, specialized Japanese condiments, liquor, and restaurant supplies.
• Manage strict inventory, tracking shelf life, storage conditions, and rotation of highly perishable ingredients to ensure maximum freshness and minimal loss.
Team Leadership:
• Structure fair and efficient staff work schedules based on sales forecasts, monitor individual performance, perform formal annual evaluations, and manage corrective coaching or disciplinary actions when necessary.
Customer Relations, Guest Satisfaction & Issue Resolution:
• Address and resolve complex customer inquiries, special dietary requests, and complaints directly with authority and professional diplomacy to safeguard the restaurant's local reputation.
• Maintain strong relations with the local Kelowna community and tourist patrons by gathering feedback and refining front-of-house hospitality standards.
Health, Safety, Compliance & Quality Assurance:
• Ensure strict enforcement of WorkSafeBC standards, local health authority regulations, and FoodSafe guidelines across all prep, storage, and service areas.
• Conduct routine health and safety inspections of kitchen equipment, refrigeration units, and dining areas to prevent hazards and maintain hygiene excellence.
