Restaurant Assistant Manager Job

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Restaurant Manager to oversee the daily operations of our restaurant in Kingston, Ontario. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff, maintaining high standards of customer service, controlling labour and operating costs, and ensuring the restaurant operates efficiently and profitably.

• College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma
Experience
• 2 to 3 years of relevant experience
Key Responsibilities
The Restaurant Manager will:
• Analyze budgets and implement strategies to increase and maintain restaurant profitability
• Evaluate and improve daily restaurant operations
• Monitor revenues and labour costs
• Monitor and evaluate staff performance
• Plan and organize daily restaurant operations
• Recruit, interview, and hire staff as required
• Prepare and manage employee work schedules
• Supervise restaurant staff and delegate duties
• Train employees on operational procedures, customer service, and workplace requirements
• Balance cash and complete balance sheets, cash reports, and other related financial forms
• Organize and maintain inventory levels
• Ensure compliance with applicable health, safety, and food safety regulations
• Negotiate with clients regarding catering services and the use of restaurant facilities
• Participate in the development and implementation of marketing plans
• Respond to and resolve customer complaints and concerns professionally
• Maintain a positive, safe, and productive workplace environment
Supervision
• Supervise approximately 5–10 employees
Required Skills and Technical Knowledge
Experience with:
• Electronic cash registers
• Point-of-sale (POS) systems
• Microsoft Excel
• Restaurant inventory and cash management systems

Work Conditions
