Research and Development Technician Job

• Assist in developing new products based on new product development forms and processes.
• Validate and verify scale-up runs for new products.
• Perform application/functional tests, analytical tests and develop new testing methods, and applications.
• Research and prepare reports about nutrition facts and ingredients.
• Design shelf-life testing and set up sensory evaluation.
• Provide ongoing research and technical support to the team.
• Work with marketing and sales teams to design innovative products.
• Analyze, identify, recommend, and implement solutions for products.
• Perform all required record-keeping and documentation during every phase of product development.
• Assist in generating technical documentation and provide pre-and post-product launch support.
• Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of laboratory instruments and equipment
• Order and manage inventory of lab supplies and reagents
• Create and manage databases for the R&D team
• Perform other required duties as assigned by the R&D Director.

• Bachelor in Food Science, Biochemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, or related science is preferred.
• A minimum of 1-2 years of related work experience
• Must have experience with laboratory equipment and techniques for sample preparation, measurements, and analyses
• Excellent record-keeping skills to maintain accurate and detailed documentation of experiments, observations and results
• Strong research abilities and technical skills including formulations.
• Must be adaptable and able to work in a dynamic environment where priorities often change
• A strong collaborator with the ability to maintain a positive attitude and solution-oriented mindset when challenges arise
• Proficiency in using computer applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Flexible to work evenings and weekends to accommodate production testing, when necessary
