Job Description:
We’re looking for a Religious Addiction Support Worker to provide compassionate, faith-informed support to individuals affected by substance use and related challenges. This role offers recovery coaching, practical assistance, and connection to community services in a respectful, trauma-informed, client-centered way.
Job Requirements:
Responsibilities
Provide one-to-one recovery support, coaching, and regular check-ins
Support clients with goal setting, recovery planning, and relapse prevention
Connect clients to detox, treatment, counselling, medical care, and community resources
Assist with or facilitate recovery and life-skills groups
Provide crisis support and follow safety protocols as needed
Offer spiritual support when requested and with consent
Maintain documentation, confidentiality, and professional boundaries
Participate in team meetings, supervision, and training
Qualifications
Experience supporting individuals affected by addiction, mental health challenges, trauma, or homelessness
Strong communication, empathy, and ability to build trust with clients
Understanding of recovery principles and client-centered support
Ability to maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and accurate documentation
Comfortable working in a faith-based nonprofit environment while providing respectful, non-judgmental care
