Job Description:

Assist health care practitioners during examinations or treatments

Monitor patients and advise physician of any changes in patients' condition

Address and document symptoms and changes in patients’ conditions

Assess patients to identify appropriate nursing interventions

Collaborate with members of an interdisciplinary health team to plan, implement, co-ordinate and evaluate patient care in consultation with patients and their families

Conduct disease screening

Deliver health education programs

Deliver immunization programs

Dispense and administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician

Operate or monitor medical apparatus or equipment

Provide consultative services regarding issues relevant to nursing profession and nursing practice

Provide nursing care

Provide supportive counselling and life skills programming

Perform administrative tasks

Requirements:

Education: Completion of a university, college or other approved registered nursing program is required.

Experience: A minimum of three years of experience are required.

Previous consecutive experience as a Registered Nurse (R.N.) within the past 3 years is required for licensing.

Be eligible for Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).

Completion of specialized courses such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid is a strong asset.

Salary: $39.07 per hour + premium pay under certain conditions as per the collective agreement, 57.5 hours per week.

Important Information: Flexibility on schedule is required. The worker will be required to work 12-hour shifts. The work schedule includes 2 days on-work, 2 days off-work, and 3 days on-work. Work on weekends, overnights and overtime are required. Work on holidays may be required depending on the business needs. Because we are a hospital, we operate 24 hours a day.
